Ruth asks…

need a good skin care treatment?

I’m looking for a good facial skin care regimine. My normally oily T-Zone is now dry & I have what I would consider large pores. Any suggestions – something over the counter (not RX) & preferrably from the drug store – can’t afford the department store stuff! Thanks!

OMG I just started using Philosipy and I love it!! You can get it on QVC. I have really bad skin and I love this. So far it’s the only thing that works. Not even proactive worked for me. You should try it

Anti-Acne Sulfur Soap and Treatment Kit by Joesoef Skin Care?

Anyone used it? I have heard rave reviews from friends, on allure.com and makeupalley.com. Apparently is has helped cure acne for lots of people. Any opinions? I’ve tried proactive – too harsh. Rx, and dept store stuff, and lots of money down the drain at Sephora on Murad, Dr. Brandt, Dr. Perricone, etc., etc…I am ready to try something new that actually works. The reviews say this stuff works. Just wanted to see what everyone had to say about it.

Carol asks…

red bumps on skin not acne?

Ok so I have red little bumps on my face and some on my shoulders and a little on my chest. They aren’t itchy at all. They appeared almost overnight. And no one in my family has skin like this. Could it be from using skin care products that are too old? I have Rx products but I don’t know how old they are. I don’t think anything in my diet has changed recently.

Girl Talk answers:

If it appeared over night it is likely to be a reaction to a product or your clothes could have irritated your skin, could be washing powder or something you ate, absolutely anything. Reactions and allergies can develop any time, if they are still there in a few days then I would see a doctor. Try to remember if you used or ate anything different and make a note of what products your using and what you are eating to see if there is a pattern with outbreaks.

Sandra asks…

Am I killing my skin, and how bad is it? (pics)?

I’m so depressed and stressed out, I’m actually crying right now. I don’t know what to do anymore. My parents are divorcing, I’m starting high school in a different town where I’ll know nobody, I’m breaking out SO bad! and I’m stressing out even more because I think I look like a beast who got shot in the face multiple times!

I just posted a similar queston with my skin care regime and someone answered saying that I’m putting my skin through hell… all I’m doing is what my derm told me to, I’m wasing with Neutrogena OilFree Acne Wash, puting benzaclin(rx) on my cheeks, nose and chin, and putting ziana(rx) on my forehead. And at night I was with same cleanser and put benzaclin on and take doxycyline which is an antibiotic. I go to the beach almost every week and I usually come back a little sun burned so i drop the acne products and I use dove sensitive skin soap and alovera for a night (derm didnt say to do that, but i do it cuz im scared itll sting even more if i use the acne products.

I’m also starting yoga to relieve some of the stress…think itll work, and drinking 4 L of water a day and only eating healthy nonprocessed foods.

should i just drop all the acne products from my derm and use a sensitive skin 3 step regime?
Can you just give me any advice you could possibly give? Anything.
Since I’m only 13, can my skin still heal itself if the acne does any damage?

Should I quit all the stuff from the derm and just use a mild cleanser toner and mositurizer?

Thanks for all the help, I really do appreciate it.

Girl Talk answers:

If the prescriptions haven’t worked after using them for about 5 months you should call your dermatologist and quit using them and ask for something else.

Girl Talk answers:

I don’t think paying someone for going for groceries or for doing yardwork is tax deductible, even though it’s impossible for you to do these tasks. Those are everyday chores that are not directly related to disability.

However, as described, everything else you’ve listed is tax deductible. You’re very sharp. Hope this reaches you be tax deadline.
