How can I prevent acne caused by hair products?

I have lengthy hair and each and every time I use even the tiniest amount of hair styling item (mousse, styling creme, etc.), I get acne behind my ears. I even clean my forehead and behind my ears after styling my hair, but I guess my pores still get clogged from my hair touching my skin. How can I stop the acne?
